I am looking at a IH 440 baler and need some info. What years were they built? Were they a good baler? How is CIH with parts support on older IH balers? What is the approximate value range on a 440 in good working order always shedded with good oringinal paint?

Thanks,
John

I believe they were built in the 60s but am not sure. I have a 430 and it is a very good baler (it is the same as the 440) I have not had any problems so far getting parts for my baler. Parts are kind of high compared to my NH (IH needle 189, NH needle 100) I paid around 800 for mine a few years ago at an auction. I was at another auction this year that had a 440 with the hydroformatic attachment and it went for 600. I should have bought it.
