What is the purpose of the swath board? For one reason or another, all 3 of the disc mowers I have owned, ended up without a swath board in place, and I could not see any difference. What is this part suppose to do?

The swath board,or grass board,as some call it is on a sickle mower to rake a little bit of the cut hay away from the uncut hay. This kept the cut hay from getting tangled on the inside end of the sickle bar on the next round. The rotation of the outer disc throws the cut hay away from the standing hay and they don't need a swathboard. the disc mowers I have used did not have one and I have not seen any on a disc mower.

The first disc mower I had was a New Holland made by Kuhn. I took the board off for some unremmbered reason. The next mower was a Kuhn, and I took the board off of it because one bolt came out, and the other was loose. Did not have time to gat a bolt, so off it came. The mower I now use, was bought used, and the board was missing when I got it. I have not had any trouble with any of the 3, as concerned to the missing board. Now, what do you mean by "I think you were taken...."?

It pulls the cut hay away from the next row so you can see where to cut and it will leave enough room for your tires so hay wont be driven on.
