I have a small thrasher that was my great grandfathers. It is in great shape and thrashes pretty well. Does anyone have any info on this? I have never seen or heard of another like it. My great grandfather used his fordson he used to power it with. I believe it reads on the side, "New Racine for the Fordson".

Can anyone help with general info on the company or when these were manufactured.

I have seen an old brochure put out by the Ford Motor Company in the early 20s with all sorts of implements for the Fordson (Model F). I used to have a copy, but when I looked for it this evening, I couldn't put my hand on it. (It may turn up yet.)

Anyway, the implements and accessories in this brochure ranged from belt pulleys to mowers to aftermarket wheels to sawmills; many of the implements were belt-driven, as your thresher is. Most of them had the phrase "made for the Fordson" painted on them (an early example of cross-marketing, I suppose).

Without the brochure I can't give you much info on the Racine Company (whatever that was/is), all I can tell you is that the thresher likely was built sometime in the early to mid-1920s.

Send me your e-mail address & I'll put it on file, just in case that pesky ol' brochure turns up...
