I want to convert my 224 from wire to twine can anyone tell me what other JD models use the same knotters as the 224 I live in Califnoria and used parts for this older baler are hard to come by at a reasonable price. Thanks for the help.

It would be much cheaper and easier to simply trade for a twine baler.

msb is right. The price of old balers is low enough that it's easier to replace the whole machine. You'd have to change the whole knotter mechanism, the needles, twine box, twine guides, all the lube lines etc. If you had one behind the barn and a lot of time on your hands you can do it but not worth it.
