I'm going to try my luck at improving one of our fields. It's full of unwanted weeds, too much clover, and chocked full of field stones. I'm planning to plow, disc, and even harrow if I have to, followed by reseeding. But the rocks. I think I'll have so many rocks that the front wheels of the tractor will go flat. With a huge pry bar we filled the stoneboat twice the other day, just to get a feel for how much rock. Yikes. The plow might bring the stones to the surface, but is there an implement out there today to help out with rock collection? If we have to, we'll have the bucket tractor and the other one with the back blade to push the tombstones out. Any advice?

Here's a typical model with hydraulic driven reel. Around here, you can rent one from a implement dealer.

Do they just snag rocks off the surface, or do they actually dig in a bit?

Heard of 'em, never saw one...what's it look like and how does it work? I grow rocks better'n anything else, they're like weeds here!

Is it a new implement, or been around for decades? What kind of price and hp needed? I've got a Fordson Major at about 45hp. Is it off the drawbar or hitch?
