Woods twin cadet #121 Brush Hog Mower

Is anyone familiar with a Woods twin cadet #121 mower. I am looking for a brushhog mower and I"m familiar with brand names but not model numbers. How old is the mower, any particular problems with this model in general, is it pretty heavy duty. There is one in the paper I might look at but I don"t want to go blind and I"ve searched and can"t find too much info. What is a decent price for one. The one advertised is 10 ft, it is for $1,800 and it comes with a cylinder and a chain kit. When I look at it is there anything in particular I should check? Thanks.

I HAVE ONE IT'S A GREAT MOWER WILL CUT DOWN FROM 2 INCHES TO 12 INCHES. IT HAS 2 BLADES. THIS UNIT IS VERY HEAVY DUTY AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH TRACTOR TO PULL IT. THE PRICE OF $1800 IS EXCELLENT. THE ONLY THINGS I WOULD CHECK FOR IS A CASE OF SEVERE RUST WHICH I DOUBT YOU WILL ENCOUNTER. MAKE SURE THE CYLINDER WORKS. CHECK THE BLADES UNDENEATH, THEY MAY NEED TO BE SHARPENED OR REPLACED . ALSO CHECK THE SEALS TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE OIL IN THEM. IF THERE IS NO OIL MAKE SURE AND KEEP THEM FILLED WITH A GOOD QUALITY GREASE.

They are a good mower. Make sure the gearbox seals under the mower aren't leaking. That was a common problem on them, especially the early models. Price sounds fair if it doesn't need any repair. That model was built from the early 80s through last year.

I have a 6 foot Cadet Woods Brush Hog. The labels are gone. What type of oil/grease should I use in the gearbox? Thanks
