Controls on Bailer

I just got a New Holland, Mayliner 271, the engine on version, old but in good shape. At present you have to go back to the bailer to tighten or loosten the belt tightener. I know you are supposed to be able to do this from the tractor. The remote control is there but is not connected to anything. I have the manual but it does not show how to connect this.

Can anyone help on this of know where I can get further information? When the bailer jams I want to be able to release the belts quickly to spare the belts and engine.
