Was tying pretty well until I had to remove knot from bill hook on left facing foward. Then I forgot to put the pin back in the knotter.

Cycled it 1x & broke shear pin on flywheel. Needle was stuck on knife arm. Got it freed, re-timed it, put new shear pin on twine disc, adjusted everything but now no knot delivered from needles.

It tied when cycling by hand but does not in the field. Tension not too tight, needles correct distance from twine fingers, twine discs catching both ends of twine(sisal).

At a loss here. I know grooves on rollers should be built up.

Am looking at archives too.

When you say the tension is not too tight, are you referring to the bale tension or the bill hook tension? Check the tension on the bill hook spring, it may be too loose. If it is too loose, the knot bill hook will not hold the knot, if it is too tight, the bill hook will not release the knot. Get a fish scale and measure the pressure required to open the bill hook (you will have to raise the knotter stack). Tension should be between 3-12 pounds.
