Anybody here use liquid fertilizer on orchardgrass? Just got a 110gal boom sprayer for herbicide application and was wondering if I could use some sort of liquid fertilizer on the grass with some success, maybe miriclegrow or someting along those lines. Still learning.BTW I did get my RUL this past winter. Anyway Thanks in advance for your responses. Mark

Why not. Just apply it when it is conducive to doing some good; considering rain, and temperature. Maybe your ag chemical or ag agent can help with that. Also get the right application rate.

One thing though. After application it may burn the grass and it will look dead....and you think "oh heck what have I done????? ); buttttt that's temporary. In a week or two all that will grow out and behind it is the beauty....dark green.

There"s some stuff available around here now that"s made from fish byproduct. Rutgers says that it"s supposed to be an excellent spray-on liquid fertilizer for organic farmers. I"ve got an old sprayer that I"m contemplating using to put this on for 2nd cut . . . . it is recommended to apply on the stubble right after baling 1st cut so that new growth doesn"t hold any smell, so that might be an issue. If I try I will report.

I would think that smell would be gone in the length of time it takes to grow off a crop and I would think that some leaf would help absorption....but what do I know about it?
