Hi Jeff , Go to your local JI Case/IH dealer and order anything you want from them for that 990 . I got a copy of the unit overhaul manual for mine ( $5.50 ) , and the owners manual was less than $10 I believe but I didn't get it because I got an original with the machine . Be prepared for sticker shock if you want the parts manual though , it was around $40 . The machine is so simple that I passed on that one because the dealer can print out pages as you need them . There are a number of unit overhaul manuals for it , I got the one that covers the gearbox and main drive systems .

The 990 that I got I bought with a bad bearing in the auxilary drive . I got a parts machine with it and the drive was in good shape on that one . Changed bearings in about 4 hours including cleanup of parts for inspection . It takes some time to align everything but it's not that hard . It works great now . I still need to replace some broken tines but that doesn't look too hard , and everything else was just normal abuse over the last 30 years .

Last note , make sure the sprockets are in good shape , you have to split the machine to remove the roll sprockets . And are they pricey ! Around $140 .

Good luck with it and visit the dealer , they say they carry everything for it . ...Randy
