I finally got brave and cut about 10 acres today. I used my new drum mower. Wow! Now I know why others have said they could never go back to a sickel bar. Fast, no plugging, just awesome. I did have one near disaster. The pto shaft came off of the mower. No damage but boy was I lucky. The mower was assembled by the dealer and I'm guessing they did not get it on all the way. I had a tough time but it's on right now and I had no further problems. Works so well it made cutting hay fun again.. Now if the rain will just hold off.

Im glad you like your new mower, shame though about the PDI not been done correctly, I hope you told your dealer about it too. Now you know why us Europeans love those drum/disc mowers so much, apart from the fact they will cut through anything like a hot knife through butter, changing blades is so dead easy.We bought our first one ( A Fahr drum mower ) in 1969!Be safe and keep your skirt on ( if you know what I mean!)and you will have years of fun. Our hay time has been buggered up by the weather too, poor consolation for you I know.
Regards
Roy
