I am searching for a PTO shaft for an old IHC hay mower project and need to know the dimension specifications for the different series U-Joints and shafts. ie...12N, 14N, 34N, etc...
I see 3-point specs listed at this site, but I do not know where to find PTO specs.

All 3ph specs are at www.asae.org. That's the Am Society of Ag Engineers. I've never checked for pto specs on their site, but it might be worth a try. Or try a google search for Weasler- that is a major pto mfr.

Hi- I'm doing the same project and I think if your trying to get the rear joint replaced it's only available from IHC. I plan on reusing my rear joint and purchasing a front section with a newer style joint and if I have to adapt it to the rear section so be it, however it looks like I can still get the square type shaft. I can find parts, but the problem is looking in the catalogs and talking with counter people, I have to know what "series" shaft I have. How can I find out?
My u-joint appears to be ~2.5"~ wide with 7/8" dia. cups. I have not taken it out yet.
If I could know the series; 12N, 34N etc...based on the power rating, then I might be able to avoid being scalped locally by mail ordering a part.

the series deal w/ the joint itself, as there are many different sizes. I think the average is 35, but that's based on what I've seen. I can't say what your's is. Probably the easiest way to identify the series is bring it in to a dealership if possible. The square tube is all standard English sizes. The one that is 3 sided and sort of rounded, is metric. 2 completely different beasts.
