IH 1300 sickle mower

What can ya'll tell me about the IH 1300 sickle mower. It's 3pt mounted, wobble box and 7' cutter bar, guy says it's ready to go to the field. any problems with these mowers? Is it easy to change bar length, Throw a 9' bar on in place of the 7'? Would there be any thing you'd have to change?

Have several 1300 a very good mower .The wobble box can be expensive to fix if you have a problem.Yes you can put a 9 foot bar inplace of the 7 foot bar bolts right on.Will need to increase the spring tension on the breakaway function because of the extra draq of the longer bar.

I have a IH 1300 sickle bar mower and I am trying to find an outer shoe wheel assembly or outer skid plate to adjust the end of the cutter bar for clipping pastures. Any suggestions on where to look or ideas on how to keep the end of the blade up 6 or 8 inches?

Don't know about LENGHTENING the bar, but shortening it is pretty easy! BIL has one he found for $50. Cleaned it up, replaced belts , and away she went! He's only got about 3-4 acres , but it works good behind his Kioti yuppie tractor, outta work great behind a real machine!
