I have a NH 268 Hayliner. it is an older model (1964) It is in good shape except that I am having a problem with making square bales. The
bales are not evenly packed hence they kink when thrown. The bale pressure measure equally on the screws each side of the chamber. The feed to the chamber seems ok. I will say I have never had the knife changed. What could be the problem? Also, what"s a ball park price for a set of Model 53 thrower belts? Thanks for any replies.

Hey Andy, It sounds like you just need to turn down on the screws more, Are the bails loose and shaggy? if so, putting more tension on them will solve that. I had alot of banana bails when I started using a square baler #270. I used the first wagon to get it right, it took about 3 adjustments to get it right but the bails are perfect now.
