I am attempting to return my dad"s Dearborn Model 14-15 sickle bar mower to working order. I need to replace the broken pitman arm. Any help?

All the other posts are for other makes of mowers, the Dearborn did not use a wood pitman but a round pipe pitman from the factory and the ball at the knife head is on the pitman, not the knife as other mowers and the repairs and book are no longer avaible for years from ford. You might get the book from N-news but cutter bar parts it will just be a trial and error job, I think the sections from Deere fit the dearborn knife. I do have one here, would just have to find it and I do also have all the books, just have to find them as well, when I got mine 10 year ago that was the way it was for me on parts and books. My pitman has been welded

Pitman arm and any "common" parts is TSC. Best source for any other new parts is New Holland dealer parts department. Alternative is to buy a second 14-15 for parts, but you'll still probably need to get some new ones occasionally.

Also, if you don't have an operator's manual, I suggest you buy one through New Holland.

good luck!

Real easy to make a new Pitman if you have a table saw and drill. Just copy the old one. While you are at it make a few. Use oak and it might be a good idea to coat with linseed oil.

I don't know if you have a TSC nearby, but I saw several different ones at a TSC on Saturday.
