Check the flat head bolt that the upper end of twine tube comes to rest on. This and the knife cuts the twine. Does twine tube drift down while baling? I have always sharpen knife as sharp as possible and adjust the flat head bolt to stop twine firmly. May have groove worn in flat headed bolt.

It's possible the twine not being cut at the end of the bale, but you probably would have seen that. Its more likely the hydraulic twine arm is dropping down on its own and feeding the twine in. Check the catches when the twine arm is brought back up. Twine arm MIGHT be bent at pivot point. Pivot point may be worn so that there is enough play in it to let the arm drop down. The F model I had would not cut the twine well, so I made a knife from an old mower knife section that was about an eighth of an inch higher. Worked fine then. Good Luck. KEH

The only 2 round balers I know much about are the Claas 62 and the John Deere 550, so I am not really qualified to comment as such on your baler but logically speaking I would say the twine is being picked up far to early. Could it be that for some reason the twine arm is going across the bale "on its own"? is it electric, manual or hydraulic tie?

The 504G is hydraulic tie.
