We have trouble getting a bale started! WE shortened the belts to the minamum 424inches But they still don"t want to turn when we have it in position to start a bale! Should we shorten the belts more? Thanks for any help Minn Norske

Hi,
I just got my 241 baler and was concerned about starting the bale. I did the as the book stated , start on one side of the pickup and quickly drive back and forth . For which I was rewarded with big pile of hay and a pickup head that stopped turning. After un-jamming the big wad of hay, I tryed going in 1st gear and going side to side which worked and the baled started forming.Starting slow worked for me then shifting into second after I got a good core going.Kind of neat watching the bale form and found it really easy to even up the bale by looking at the belts for the low spots. If you if want me to scan some of the pages of the operators book , e-mail me I'd be glad to help . I pull my 241 behind my 52 Farmall H, it does the trick and makes pretty good bales. Double check to see that you rerouted the belts correct.
I got 2 of mine routed out side a rod by one of the rollers. took me 2 days screwing with the baler until I figured out what I had done.
