Net wrap problems with NH650

I have a '93 NH650 with net wrap feature that I just purchased prior to this hay season. It had a partial roll of black open mesh wrap that works fine. I had purchased a roll of white net wrap from New Holland dealer and am having problems with it feeding. Sometimes it may wrap 5 to 10 bales OK then it will missfeed and had to be reloaded. It also seems to rip very easily. Has anyone had this problem? Is anyone aware of any other types of wrap that may work better better with this baler?

Try reducing the pressure the duckbill exerts on the net. Keep track of how much you back the nuts off so you can go back if needed. make sure the knife is SHARP.

The black NH wrap works far better than the white IMHO. White also requires a different threading sequence from the black. Do you have the white net threaded properly? We transferred in a 644 several years ago in which the receiving dealer had installed a roll of white. It gave me and the customer fits until we took it out and put the black that we stock exclusively in. 9000 bales later the netwrap system is working well. Other brands of balers benefit from spreading talc on the net roll. May be worth a try here.

Thanks for both of your replies. I did put new knives on a few weeks ago. At that time the old knives weren't able to cut the white net at all. After installing the new knives the white wrap gets cut but sometimes fails to feed. I need to look again to see if there is a different path for feeding the white stuff. I did read in my service manual yesterday that there is a different pin to attach the wrap tension spring on for white vs black. The next time I have some hay to bale I'll switch back to the white and try it again. I'd like to get to where the white wrap works because the black is much harder to find.

Look at net roll brake pressure and the timing of the brake off/on cycle.
