John Deere Corn sheller Qs?

Couple of questions on the JD 1A/1B corn shellers....First of all, does anybody have a good layout of what decals go where on this thing and where they can be gotten from? I know there was the generic "John Deere" decal across the side and a smaller leaping deere decal on there somewhere, but was there anything else on any of the other parts?

Secondly, on the end of the sheller where the cobs come out of the machine....directly beneath where they exit is a slot at roughly a 45 degree angle that seems to angle back down towards where the kernels exit at the bottom. Why is that slot there? It looks as if something was inserted into the slot, but I can't figure out what for the life of me. Pictures would be helpful. Thanks!

If you look at the other end of the sheller, you will see a cleaning fan. This slot is where the dust blows out. The fan is run by a pulley next to the flywheel. A round belt goes to a pulley on the fan shaft.

Yeah, i noticed the blower fan, but since the bottom is open for the kernels to exit, I figured the air and chaff would just kinda exit out through the top or the bottom. Is there a chute inside that i'm unaware of? From the views that i've seen, it looks like it's just a rectangular duct that goes from the side to the bottom with no opening to the inside of the unit. Perhaps i'll take a closer look the next time i'm over there where the sheller is. Thanks!
