Bought a flatbed wagon from a guy this spring had it loaded up with 8 bales of baleage yesterday. Going down the road and lo and behold the front wheel comes off. Not much fun trying to pick up 8-10 ton of baleage. Needless to say put the wheel back on went 50 feet and it came off again. The lugs were all stripped out and broke the cast iron hub. Ended up bolting the wheel on and taking the wagon home spent over 3 hours messing with this dumb thing. Just wondering if any of you guys had days as such?

My luck has changed I was pulling the baler home after a good afternoon (baled about 360 square bales and had it all loaded) when the tongue folded up on the baler. But I chained it to a 3 pt arm and got it home. Welded it up the next evening (so I lost a day). Went to the field again last night and baled up what I had on the ground and it is in the barn as of last night. Only problem was where I spliced the wire it didn't feed and I had to rethread the wire. I could quit baling now and have enough hay for the winter, but will put up a couple hundred more this weekend so that I have plenty.

Thought that was everyday!
This spring changed the trans/hyd filter on the JD 4430. When out and worked a while. No Hyd. change the filter again. back in business work a while. no Hyd. change the filter. back in business. work a while. no Hyd. Now I'm thinking this is getting old. Go get the JD4320 change the Filter go out and work. no Hyd.

Ok I'm not changing that filter again unless it needs now Sheesh

PS After much thought changed the oil on the 4430 cleaned the pickup screen and back in business. The 4320 is making steel shavings so looks like into the shop for rearend work

Rule #1 of any farm machinery, if you really need it, it will break down. Additional rules:
You will not have the part or bolts you need.
The closest part is at least an hour away.
The parts store will be either closed for lunch, out of that part or it will be way too high priced.
When you get the original problem fixed, something else will break.
Rain is on the way and the wife has made special plans.

Yup, me, too! Worked on neighbors baler yesterday morning. Didn't get out to the field until 11:15. Started in mowing and got about 15 minutes into it, when the drive belt broke on the mower broke. Naturally, the only parts store in town (*&@#*X highpriced NAPA) closes for lunch. Got the wrong belt on the first try - got the right one at about 2 pm. Took off mowing again - about 100 yards into it, the pitman broke! ARRGH! Closest place to get one is 40 miles away. Guess I'll let the grass grow a bit more ..... .

Yep! One of the best cutting days i'v seen, Took 2 hrs personal time from work and started cutting the furthest field and 30 minutes into it I broke the sheer bolt on the haybine wobble box. Ya think I had one? heck no. Had to drive an hour into town and all they had were grade 8 bolts. Guess I'll go at it again today.

Oh yeah! I remember one day I went after a load of gravel after lunch, got the wagon stuck, broke the hitch, ended up shoveling the load off. Got the empty wagon home and welded up about 7 pm. afternoon gone and not a thing to show for it.
