Is there anyone out there who has a new holland super 78 baler. I see very little about this series baler on here and on other sites. I have one and was just wondering if I was the only one who still has and uses one. I even went to the dealer for parts and they tried to tell me it was a 278 and no a 78. I was just wondering that is all.

I can get some pics but it will be awhile. I am right in the middle of haying and we are behind due to weeks of rain. It is not pretty and I haven't used it in awhile but I am going to get it back in shape hopefully this winter

I have a 78 that I am going to try to put back in service. It is definitely a heavy baler.

We had a super 78 in the early to mid-fifties. In 1956 or 57, Dad traded for a new Massy compact baler. It had the Wisconsin V4 which bellowed like a bull. I was quite young so don't remember much, beyond it could make heavy bales and had that crazy wad board. I have never seen or even heard of another 78, so I'm glad you posted, appears to be a lot more 77's around. How about a few photographs? Steve from New Holland can give you the a lot more information, so I hope he sees your inquiry and responds.

Jon, We had a super 78 too with the V4 Wisconsin engine on it. It did make some nice heavy bales when everything was right. I noticed the guy that bought it was using it this spring to bale up some wheat hay so it's still running.
