Broke the u-joint yoke on the pto shaft that connects to
the flywheel. Shear bolt failed to shear. Baler took in a large wad. Field full of hay. Big hassle. I'm trying to remember why I thought making my own hay would be kind of fun. Maybe I'll remember tomorrow after the thing is fixed, I hope.

I also have a 315. I used to go through about a box of shear bolts a season. Last year I only used one. A little more HP tractor seems to have made the difference. Thankfully the shear bolt(s) are the only thing I've broken with the exception of a pully that just wore through. Good to go this season I hope--if it will ever quit raining..

I have a 315 and it will bale about anything. If your shear bolt didn't shear or the clutch didn't slip something is set wrong. Review your manual and recheck your settings. Good luck....

Good advice, I'v got a 320 but not much different, I'm wondering of somone put new clutch plates in there and put to much torque on the bolts, That sheer bolt should have snapped.
