I have a JD 1209 moco that I inherited. It been used on one piece of property since I've had it. We are losing the property and I will need to move it in the near future, but don't know how to transport it. It is too wide for any of the current drives on the property. Can this be trailered lengthwise? If so how?

I have taken a 1209 thru many tight gates with a 1070 case with the tounge folded in and had no problems is your tounge manual or HYD swing?

The tongue is manual. When the 1209 was brought in 6 years ago I believe it was brought in on a trailer loaded sideways. A 1209 is about 14 feet wide regardless of tongue position and all my access points have spots narrower than that. Probably going to sell it as a consignment. Hopefully the consignee can move it for me since I haven't got adequate trailering at this time.

My neighbor had a 1209 about 25 years ago, when I had the NH 479? It was several machines ago. They both had a nine foot cut, and the tongue folded up to pull behind the tractor in one lane of any township road, maybe 12 feet max?, certainly not over 4 feet beyond the tractor.

I recently moved a 1219 about 45 miles. We backed it up onto a 16 foot trailer from the side using ramps. Blocked it up, strapped it down, then took the tongue pin out and laid the tongue along the side of the trailer. No problem.

You are aware the tounge swings over to the center some, not center exactly but sure helps? (Someone has to ask....)

While they do take up 14 feet or so, can't believe you have such a tight access.

You would have to load on a trailer & remove the tounge to narrow it up.
