Whew what a long day. Started baling about 2pm. Gave in about 8 pm. Hay is so thick, couldn't get out of 1st gear with the old JD 14t. Broke quite a few shear bolt because of the feeder plugging up.
Wife has not got the creap into the thick ones down yet. But who am I to complain? SHe is out there running the baler for me. I will change shear bolts all day for that. Got 400 on the racks.

Here is the working end of this rig. get ready to grab that bale.

Have a few more on my Web site just punch the link to see. Should be in the Farmall 400 section.

Great. I like it when the wife pitches in. Makes you feel like you are doing the right thing.

Nice pictures, Kelly! I have a few orders in this year so I am liking the idea of getting out there myself. Problem is the weather, as usual.
Hey, if you ever decide to run those #5 mowers over Michigan way for me....be sure to bring the wife. ;-)

i hope should looks back not just straight ahead in photo all time. Pic looks like wagon is long way back from chute. You are using a hay hook aren't you. Thats just the first day. Have fun. Been there and done that. windrows look awful flat did you rake or it must be awful light anyway good luck. Doing second cutting this week. PS if she dress like that all time she will be really sunburned looks to me like.

Hay hook? Yes after the 1st one went over the side at a turn.

Windrows were not flat. They were huge. They do kind of look flat in the photo but they were big and wide. To big for the 14T.

She looks strait ahead, becomes oblevious to whats going on behind.
Been trying to teach her, but when ever I suggest some thing she thinks I am yelling.
SO I live with it and teach in little bits.
Dont need her running off in a huff. Wile hays on the ground :-)

It sure looks to me like you need to invest in some bale basket wagons. Would save lots of headaches and possibly you getting hurt. Been ther done that, even yesterday neighbors were baling had a bunch city kids fell off wagons, they were wearing shorts and no shirts, by the 1st load they were ready to quit looked like. One had bruised shoulder, other had bad twisted ankle. The driver must look back. I do it all with grapple now after having the baskets which I really liked. Would not do it anyother way. I will say this again to you invest in some basket wagons and keep the marriage.

Bale baskets are on my list. Very very soon.
Can you pull them full with a pick up?
I may buy one soon to try one out.
If I could find 3 of them for $4000 I would have them.
