Bought a used NH 415 Discbine from the dealer the end of last season. Works great and have not noticed any leaks on the cutterbar, but am checking her over...getting ready to cut about 40 acres of hay here in North Texas...IF IT EVER STOPS RAINING LONG ENOUGH! Anyways, I realized that I do not have the jackstand that is required to properly tilt the cutterbar to check the oil level in the cutterbar. I would feel much better if I personally checked the oil, even though I was told by the NH mechanic that he changed the oil (and how did he do so without the jackstand...which now has me more concerned).

Anyways, does anyone out there have one of these discbines and could tell me the measurement from the bottom of the pad on the jackstand to the center of the hole for the pin. If so, this would greatly help me out...it would be cheaper and faster to fab one than to have to order one from NH.

Thanks in advance...

Tim A.

Tim, the left side (tongue side) of the cutterbar should be approximately 12" off the ground. Please let me caution you that this is on area you do NOT want to overfill. If you suspect that the oil level is close, let it alone. Overfilling will create tremendous heat and possibly ruin the bearing in the bar. Good luck, Steve
