Looks like I am going to need it. My 400 and haybine will be 30 mi away till end of july with all the hay up there. Looked at another 12 acres just up the rd from me on shares. Nice hay too. With the 300 not running and I sold my 460. looks like the H gets another go at some hay. Good thing I have 2 balers.

I should really have gotten that 300 running too.
More irons than time to hit them.

I think I am going to have to roll some hay this 1st cutting just to keep up. I have more hay land to do just for the doing that I could just do that full time if I wanted.
I got 10 acres cut this eve after work. Wile I was there the guy next to me came over and asked if I wanted to do his 15 acres just to keep it down. Thats my 25 his 15 and another 20 acres accross the rd. My 400's gona be there a wile if I dont roll some.

I think I will finnish my 25 tomorow. Then Sat square bale about 700 or so. Then roll the rest of it.
Oh btw. my hay is excellent. I was worrying how it would come out after investing $600 in fert this spring. At least twice the grass as last year.

I'll remember that.....DON'T fertilize the hay! Lately I am calling all over town to get people to buy it. If I could bring it inside that would be great but finding people to come on THE day and get it from the field is a bear. Most don't show and those that do decide it is too hard or too hot or other BS.

I hope you are getting paid for all the dragging machinery around on those little patches. been there done that and it doesn't pay out especially when the customer doesn't like it when your done either because they will alll want it at the same time. I won't do all that running anymore. Go for it thou but you will find it will get old especiaslly when your help doesn't show and your wifes had enough runnign after ya. good luck. I am cutting again today I have minimum acres that I will do now for customers and traveling charge also. I have all I need of my own to get done anyway.

i helped mow a lot of hay in s.e.iowa with a no5mower on h,m, and a 1938 f20 theier is nothing wrong with that, wished i had our old no5 mower back so i can have something to mow my garden banks with, just my 2cents worth.

How many years has that 300 not been running? I remember when you bought that disc sized for the 400 and wondered if the H would pull it as the 300 was not running. Sounds like you need to get busy on the 300

And then there was the B JD and a MH mower combo that worked real good. Question. Which is faster in 4th gear, the B JD or the H Farmall.

I"d have to say the JD B would be faster in 4th gear, but maybe my recollection is off. I only raked hay with a B, and that was many years ago. Just seems like the H is slower in 4th than it was.
