Well here in WA state we continue to wait. At least through the middle of next week the forecast is for more rain. June has been awful. There was a nice 4 day stretch in late May but that's really iffy in WA. Usually we get a really nice week in June. Not this year. Probably be dealing with hay over the 4th. Can't remember that last time we were doing hay in July.

Just checked one of my fields. It has been 28 days since I cut the field and it is already in early bloom. Will cut it this evening, but hold off on its sister field to get some additional growth on it.

I saw a front moving in on radar Sunday morning. My hay was down and about half cured. Super Yucko!

Spent all day raking over and over. Thank goodness we had a full (hot) sun, 50% humidity and a nice southern breeze. By 2 PM it passed the 3 twist test. Ran and got the baler and got her all baled (sloppy but baled).

About 11pm I get up wondering were is the rain from the front, that was supposed to soak us that night. Pull up Intellicast on the www and lo and behold it dissipated...was gone....no sign of anything but a little dot around Okie City. No rain. But I was lucky. The rush baling worked out ok and the hay is cured. Stuck my hand in a bale Monday afternoon and wasn't even warm, smelled ggggg reat..... .hate to rush bale to beat a front; but if you can't stand the heat (weather) better get outta da kitchen, right?
