A friend picked up a 14-T baler a couple weeks ago, and guess who gets to work out the bugs. Well tried to bale with it today but it missed every knot, not fun to stop and tie by hand. Now I remember why I went to the big round bales. Storm started to come in and had hay down so I just gave up on the 14-T and fired up the Oliver S88 with my NH-850 behind and got the rest baled up before it started to rain. Now I get to play with the 14-T and try to get it to knot right.

Two things will make you lose your religion; a baler that won't tie and a 2-stroke (especially an outboard) engine that won't start..... .....

I had a 14T that would not knot. Kept on adjusting and timing the knotters and it still would not knot. The problem was with the arm that rotated and drove the needles. The hole had worn enought that the needles never came up the same. Drilled it out and put in a bushing and it worked great.

I remember back when those small square balers were just about all there was, every dealer had a mechanic who specialized in hay balers.
