Value of New Idea Sickle Mower

I have a sickle bar mower (pull type) that I have been thinking about selling, as I don't have time to work on it. I also could not get it to work right for me, I think the blades were way to dull, and just don't have time to change blades. Anyway the tires hold air, but one does not have much tread left and the other one has a small pinhole leak but will hold air for about a week. It has a new pitman arm and is complete (including the PTO shielding). I was thinking around $250 for it (I sold a mounted mower that I got $325 for so I was using that as a basis). Is this too much or am I in the ballpark. It will need all new blades, but I have a couple of packages of them if I can find them. Let me know if I am on track or not. Also let me know if you are interested.

I am not sure of the sickle length, but I think it is a five foot. It is the older model with rope trip but that all seems to be in good working shape. I have checked all of the u joints and they seem to be good, it does not make any odd noises when in use, and it will cut, but it clogs up quickly (my rear mounted didn't have the problems of clogging up like this one does).

Have not heard of New Idea making a 5'(20 sections) but uncommon 6'(24 sections) normal 7'(28 sections) and large(newer mowers) 9'(36 sections). It should have a model number on it someplace.

Value depends a lot on on the age of the mower; is it 50's 60's or 70's. Unless it was a newer model I think $150 is a more reasonable value. does it have a hydraulic cylinder or is it mechanical trip lift? If it includes a hydraulic cylinder, probably $25 to $50 more Hint: those "blades" are usually referred to as knives, and the whole assembly, a sickle.

A lot depends on your location and the model of the mower. Older with rope lift? Newer with cylinder lift? Hay conditioner hitch? Size of cutter bar? All need answers to.
