I'm thinking about building a new 3-pt hay fork. My tractor is a Case 1070. The big ole lift arms reach up pretty high and I was thinking that with a hydraulic top link to extend and level the bale I could easily back up to my trailer and load bales from the sides of the trailer. (I have no FEL on this tractor.) Has anyone done this before? Any construction advice? I have looked on the net and saw pictures of elaborate fork lift type setups, but that is way more than I need for this type of job. I like simple stuff in the field. Can someone give me the specifics of what size and type of hydraulic cylinder to buy? Thanks in advance folks!

We made out stuff we had layin around about 10yrs ago. standarf hyd, cyl then we used a couple of ball sockets of off some bust 3pth linkages, drilled a 1" hole in them to mount on the cyl., then used the end w the ball on the tractor and the implement worked good..jim

Do a websearch for "Sweet Farm Equipment" in Camner Kentucky. Contact Ken Sweet... They have a factory made CAT II 3-point top link. It has a built-in check valve that holds position when not under pressure. Nice piece. It sells for $265 and frieght. Tell him John sent you!
