Are you talking about toggle switches or the solenoids? Replace the toggles; tear into and repair the solenoids..... ..

The solenoids seem to be sticking, they will not open up completely, do they have to be replaced or cleaned up to work properly.

For some there are rebuild kits available. My theroy always has been if it"s not working now and I am ready to by a new replacement, what do I have to loose by tearing it apart?

I've cleaned a many-a-one and they went back to working; unbelivable amount of crud in there due to leaking water/chemicals. They don't have to "look" perfect in order to work properly. No way to tell until you take it apart.
