Question about a box blade

I have never used a box blade, but know they are used a lot for landscaping. I was wondering how they would work on a gravel drive way, and would one be of any use at putting a flat bottom in a water way? Thanks for any advice

I used one a lot as a landscaper and like it better than a back blade. For gravel driveways my choice is a landscape/york rake. Does a much better job than a box or back blade for grooming if you don"t have to move a lot of gravel. As for the waterway, once you make the center cut, crank up your right side lift arm and you can taper the edges pretty nice with a little practice. Good Luck!

I've got a box blade and it works great for moving material and leveling. Still learning the fine art of grading.

I have used it on my gravel driveway. I have learned that it's important to keep the "crown" on the driveway to let water drain away. A rear scraper blade can be used to loosen the gravel that slowly migrates to the edges of the drive and bring it back to the center more. I also use a 6' landscape rake to make the final passes over the drive and even out the loose rock.

I'm still a newbie at grading, but learn a little each time I mount the box scraper or rear blade.
