I just purchase a used JD 603 rotary mower to hang on the 3 point quick connect of my JD 2010. the quick connect is wider than the pins of the mower. Is there a matching bracket that is supposed to go on the implements for the quick connect feature to work?

got a cat 2 hitch and cat 1 mower, throw that quick hitch away and mount mower as it was supposed to be mounted, you would find that if the quick hitch could be conected to mower the power shaft would not be long enough

I did the same thing. Bought a quick hitch thinking it would speed things up. Nope. Most things I use sickle bar, rotary mower, grader box, etc all are too narrow.

I will be interested to see if you get any good responses....

Rookie mistake I guess(at least in my case)....

Hi Don , Do you mean a quick hitch ? I don't know anything about JD tractors but if it's a quick hitch , it goes on the 3-point to make attaching implements easier by being able to lower it below the attachment pins and then simply raising the 3-point till the hooks are around the pins and the lower clamps close . Now that we might be on the same page , I'm guessing the mower is category 1 and the tractor is category 2 . I don't know anything about JD tractors but if you remove the quick hitch can you remove something on the 3-point like a stabilizer bar or spacer to make it narrow down to a cat. 1 ? I've got an Oliver and it's adjustable from cat 2 to cat 1 by removing stabilizer blocks and changing the balls in the lift arms and top link . On your's you'd need ball bushings to reduce the ball hole size to the cat 1 pin size . Clear as mud ? I'm sure someone else on here knows a lot more about this than I do . Good luck ...Randy

JD uses sway blocks bolted to each side of the drawbar assembly. They are drilled so they can be mounted in two positions- wide and narrow, so they fit two different 3ph category specs. All 3ph specs are ar www.asae.org.
