Well the check's in the bank. Got a call from the guy with the 60 hp tractor that wanted (thought he wanted) my Hesston 5580 baler, day before yesterday.

I beat hime to his house, jumped on his tractor and raked up a good windrow (his wife was home). When he arrived we hooked up the baler.

Then got him in his p/u to drive alongside and watch me. Jumped on and away we went.

Rolled up a full size bale with no problems. Dropped it on the ground; (proved the point as to whether or not his 60 hp tractor would do the job) got off his tractor, stuck my hand out; accepted his check, walked off the field to my p/u and went home. Noticed that a neighbor had come over and, with his own tractor, had taken over the raking task.

Next day went by his place and he had about 25 rolls on the ground that looked real nice, especially for a beginner. No hay left on the ground and no partial bales. Mission accomplished. Whadda deal!

Thanks for the chat.

I really liked the guy, having just met him. He jumped in and took charge of the situation. No whining and crying, just got after it and adjusted things accordingly. Result was he had 22 (counted them yesterday) good looking rolls on the ground in a couple of hours from a baler he had never used before; all manually controlled so he had to make the decisions, not the machine do it for him.

Whadda deal.
