I will soon be needing a good haybine and rake. I would prefer a New Holland or John Deere mostly due to dealers/parts available locally. A friend suggested I give consideration to a NH 467 or 469 as they are "workhorse's". If anyone has something good for sale near northern MN I would appreciate hearing from you. [email protected] or call 218-*759-2036
Thanks, Bob

Thank you to all who answered. I have one local auction to go to and then we are going to NE so I think I will check along the way. Bob

I don"t know about the 469, but New Holland"s supply of parts for the 467 was dwindling as of 2 years ago when the one that was here went down the road. Can"t get new rollers anymore, although if you could, would you really want to on a machine that old?

JD dealer in Aitkin, MN has a nice 1219 JD mower conditioner for $3995. I bought one myself there last year and paid $4400. It is an excellent machine.

Drove by that dealer last week, also checked out the NH dealer across the road. Meant to call the guy about the CA in his lot to see how overpriced it was, with the junk HM scraper and the hydraulics that didn't work well. Buyers can do much better by driving another 50-100 miles south. More to pick from- I think you northern guys get held up to much by the bandits. Fergus Falls dealers are in a good transition area- crop farmers n&w, dairy e&s- get at least that far down to get a fair price. That haybine price is about a 10 year old discbine price around here. Call dealers/watch sales in Fergus, Alec, Little Falls, Sauk Centre, STC, Foley areas, etc. Check online for Dairyland Peach (Sauk Centre Herald, Dairy Star magazine). Little Falls is Morrison County (Herald?).

I bought a brand new disc mower this year and I'll never go back to a sickle type mower conditioner.
