Have an old Grimm crimper and the chain that runs the metal roller shattered while I was using it. I don't know that I have all the pieces, so I don't know how long to make the new chain.

Anybody know how long it is supposed to be, or else can you explain how to fit a new chain on there?

thanks!

Assuming that it uses common roller chain, check an existing link to determine the number- likely a 50 or 60, maybe 60H. Buy a ten foot roll of the same, with a connector link and a couple of offsets, or half-links. If the machine has a tightener on it, remove that, lay the chain around the sprockets, and cut off at the appropriate spot. If you're a bit short, add a half-link.

Try to avoid the 1/2 link if you can, those are a real weak spot of chain. Use if you must, but if there is a tightener.....

..... .should have added to replace the tightener after the chain was replaced. Just a bit easier to determine proper length if it is out of the way temporarily. They certainly are better than offsets.
