There's a NH 495 for sale near where I live here in Colorado for $1800.00. I haven't looked at it I was wondering if anyone knows about them, are they reliable, problem areas, etc. I'm inquiring for a friend. I'm still using my NH 461 that I've had for 13 years and if the 495 is anything like my 461 is as far as reliability and such it sounds like a good price. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Ernie Bob

Jimmy said it about the woble box bracket breaking off. We have had 4 of them sence they came out new.Had to weld 3 of them.HARD TO PUT A COUPLE OF BOLTS BACK IN after welding them.Otherwise good machines.

I had 2 of them the first one the bracket that held the wobble box broke off 2 or 3 times very hard to get into to wield. The second one was in very good condition when I bought it and I got a new sicle and guards with it. It had the self sharping sections, used it 4 years before I had to pull the sicle. I sold it to my B. I. L. he is still using it. I would think $1800 would be the top for it. They work great with a left and Right rake. A 50 hp tractor will pull it but is a little light for weight. My 706 and 756 worked great on it.

It is a 12 foot machine. You pull it endways to tranport. I guess they are ok, but I never liked working on them. Steve
