I just bought a 479 New Holland Haybine. The rollers are in better shape than average. Is there something I can spray on the rubber rollers, to keep the rubber from drying out and cracking? I don't know if the stuff that works for tires will work on the rollers.

Keeping it in a shed surely won't hurt, especially if the rollers are exposed to the sun. Nothing kills equip like mother nature.

My guess is that any tire product would help preserve rollers when not in use, the glycerine in tire shine products will help protect. When I used to take a car to car shows we would wipe the tires with brake fluid, it does not harm rubber and would give the tires a good appearance, however products now on the market with glycerine would work best. Keeping the machine out of the sun and storing it in a shed will be the best long term protection. ....Mike in Exeter Ontario
