Well, I took a chance and cut my first hay for the year on Friday afternoon. I was betting the odds on the weather forecast and won this time. We had a quick shower on Saturday morning, but it was not much more precipitation than a heavy dew. I flipped it today and will be baling tomorrow afternoon. Right now it looks AWESOME!!!!! !!!!!

Hi , Man , were you lucky ! Over here in Butler Co. it started raining about 9am and then went to thunderstorms at around 3pm and didn't stop raining till about midnight . Looks like the weathers going to hold for a day or so now . I wanted to mow on Thurs . but I'm not so sure now . I haven't seen tomorrows forecast yet tonight . Good luck ...Randy

say Randy, where abouts in Butler Co. do you live? I have a few cousins that live up there in the Allison Bristow area. I got a little hay mowed Sun. might be dry tonight, think I'm going to take my chances and wait another day, make some really big windrows that'll test my old 14T.

Hi Rich , I live about 4 miles east of Clarksville . I have a question for you about your 14t ; How much slop do you have in the crank and plunger bushings ? There's 4 bushings and each one costs around $25 from Deerest . So today I got a piece of cold rolled for the plunger pin and ordered a couple plunger end bushings from a welding shop . The pin was $4 and the bushings around $10 apiece . Deere wanted over $75 for the pin . This one won't be as hard but I think I'll die before it wears out . Anyway , I had about 1/8" of slop on that end yanking up and down on it . Just curious . Thanks ....Randy

Jim, I cut a little today, probably nothing compared to what you mowed. Are you giving the 1800 a workout? If not, I could give it a good home LOL. Still can't believe I passed on a deal like that. Good luck with you hay. Rich

I only dropped 15 acres, it is Orchard grass and Alfalfa mix. Will probably cut Alfalfa this week depending on the weather froecast. I have some custom work scheduled and want to get first cutting in the barn before I tackle the custom work.

The 1800 is working great. Here a photo for you.

I bought the Haybine from Helle Implement in Dyersville, Iowa. It is a 12" 495 sidepull.
