I'm buying a 7' overseeder for doing new lawn installs.... Anyone have info regarding a particular brand? (Woods, Landpride, Brillion, Ferguson, ect...) I've been renting, and now seems like the time to own. Any thoughts?????

I thought you were talking about slit seeders. My dad had a seeder back in the 60's called a viking that was along that line.I've been using a mataway and gandy slit seeder for several years with excellent results. We've also used brillion surestand seeders for a long time for new yard jobs and here on the sod farm.Another excellent piece of equipment.Good luck with whatever you decide.

I saw a deal with a small one, a walk behind. I would love to find a place around this area to rent one but no go and these things aren't cheap if you are thinking about buying.

Our local Home Depot rents "BlueBird" walk-behind overseeders, along with a host of other equipment. (Not sure how common the HD tool rental thing is outside this area....)

Heres a picture of some of our lawn seeded this spring. We were lucky with the rains at the right time.

Hi IDF. We sell both Landpride, and Brillion, and both are good products. If I get time this evening, I'll get a picture of our lawn we seeded this spring and post it. I just disked it, springtoothed it for leveling purposes, and harrowed it back solid again, broadcasted it, then tinetooth harrowed it and packed it. Moisture at the right time had a lot to do with it, but I mowed it last evening for the first time, and it is about like mowing a carpet. Like I said, it probably had more to do with the rain being timely then anything.
