How hard is it to remove the header (for hauling) on a McCormick 91 combine? Thanks!

Removing the header isn"t that difficult. It is more difficult than newer machines, but here"s how we did it - Remove the header drive belt, loosen and open the header pivot clamp, set the head down on the ground, remove the pins from the lift cylinders. The header includes the feeder house chain so it"s a bit heavy on that end.

In the early 60s, my uncle had a 91, with the planetary drive and two lever control. In those days, combines did not have quik-tach heads like now, so removing the header would be more complicated than now. Mostly because corn heads were either not available, or designers did not realize the value of a quick change.
