Went to the last two "farm stores" in my area looking for powdered graphite to use in my corn planter and they looked at me like I had 2 heads, did'nt know what I was talking about.Got to travel a ways but I do know where I can get it.Where do you fellas get yours?Or maybe I should get rid of everything and get horses then the "farm store" would be all I need.Right Allen?

Thanks for all the ideas guys,went to the local New Holland dealer,did'nt carry it.He said John Deere was the place to go,but nearest dealer about 40 miles away.Anyway got what I needed at napa.Thanks again

most of them "farm" store idiots don't even know their name. that's why they have a name tag. anyway, the best place to get graphite is at the real farm tractor dealership such as John Deere or New Holland, etc. also it is available at most any auto parts like NAPA and at ACE hardware stores. maybe even a lowe's or home depot.

Years ago, as a young man, I worked at our local Deere dealership. I still haven't forgotten who the real idiots are. It's the customer. If you've never public worked, especially at a farm dealership, then you can't imagine how rude, ignorant, selfish, and downright hateful "customers" can be. Thank God they weren't all like that. The surprising thing was that the worst ones were usually the guys who didn't have a pot to put it in anyway. I guess even the guys that fly the space shuttle had to start somewhere.

True enough. But a lot of dumb customers still helps the dealership, while one bad parts person can shut the doors as people go elsewhere.....

The cheapest place to get a good volume of it is at your closest john deere dealer. A good size bottle sells for a few dallors and will last you for a few years.

Farmer Bill, those people behind the counter have never worked in industry, taken shop courses or manual training of any kind...there isn't a better dry lubricant than graphite. I had a Snowmobile with a square clutch shaft that rode on tephlon pads. The mechanic at the dealer's used to tell me to grease them and they would ball up and stick. I cleaned the shaft and clutch and put grapite on the pads and reassembled, never had a problem with that machine ever after. ...Mike in Exeter Ontario

I use it, get from reloading supply co. Lubes shot before loading shotshells. Try a reloading mail order supply house.
