well i'm sorry to hear those 700's don't work. i guess now that i think about it the bolts are kinda cocked when they first go in but they tighten down fine for me. as far as the ledger plates, the one by the head i had made. we had a partime high school kid working at our dealership and he was awsome in metal class so i had him make one up and it fit like a glove. he counter sunk the four bolt holes on top so the section bolt heads sat flush. for the end shoe goes, the point broke off and i couldn't find a replacment so i modified a new holland shoe to fit. the mower was a pain to keep maintained and now i don't have to worry about it because i replaced it with a gehl disc mower now so it is only back up and light duty work. one of these days when i move it out of the shed i'll snap a picture for ya. sounds like your machine is coming along. sorry i havn't been much help being that i just modify mine all the time rather than hunt for original parts. i think it's really neat how some of you guys take the time to make these machines "right". just hope i can one of these days. good luck.

Hi Casey , Sorry to take so long to respond . I just got back online . Something went fizl . Anyway , The 415 is going to keep the old ledger plates for now . I'm going to try US sections with them . Actually couldn't justify the cost right now . I tried to straighten one of the pitman head straps and broke it . So now I have one more thing to find !

The dealer thinks that the wear plates and caps for the inner shoe can be ordered . I hope they are still available . I'm leaning towards rebuilding this thing and selling it . I'm not going to paint it since I'm going to use it this year .

You called those guards JD guards . All the guards from the local stores ( and I've checked them all ) are plain green or blue and just have 700 ( green )or 800 ( blue ) cast in them on top . Are we talking the same guards ?

I worked on my 207 rake all day today , replaced one tine bar bearing and found four more that need replacing . Things get spendy quick when all I can afford is junk ;') $ 35 for each bearing . Found the reel hub needed replacing also . It'll hold for this year though . Went through it and replaced worn out nuts and bolts and fixed lamebrain lazy cobbled up repairs from the previous owner/s . It's amazing how $1.60 of machine bushings bought at the JD dealer tightened up all the tine bars and removed at least 13 fender washers and two pieces of threaded blackiron pipe spacers from between the bars and the shoulders of the bearings . I was amazed at how easy it was to change out a bearing . I've read in the archives that some rolabar rakes are a bear to change tine bar bearings . Other than driving in to work to use the hydraulic press it only took maybe 15-20 minutes since I've never done it before or even seen it done . That time included wire brushing everything clean too . Take care ....Randy
