I just bought an IH number 24 or 25 sickle bar mower but I have no idea how to tell which I have. I have looked all over it and found a bunch of part numbers but no stamp that tells me what model it is. Prior owner thought that it was a #25 but I'm not to sure. How do you tell the difference? I know thats it's big enough for a Farmall H/M tractor but thats pretty much all I know. Can anyone help?

Robert, The best thing to do is post a couple of pictures of the mower,as IH made many different models. The 24 series mounted directly to the tractor and did not have a tail wheel. The 25 had a tail wheel and had a v-type frame(25 gear drive was only built about 2 years and actually had a framr that formed a right angle). If you can't post pics, post some part numbers and describe how it mounts and what lifts the cutter bar.
