Woods Finish Mower

Hi guys.I have a Woods 6ft.finish mower older brand,that I picked up at a auction. The problem is it does not have tires on the front only a flat skid shoe's on both sides which digs in to the lawn.The back has tires, I would really like to mount tires on the front so it will follow the contour of the land.So where in the heck can I buy bracket an all for the front.Thanks Jim

Woods use to sell a front wheel kit as an option. I've bought a couple of them in the past and they aren't hard to install.

They probable still have them forsale??

Jim...I have a 5" Woods finish mower that I had the same problem with and the front wheels idea sounded good but the hurry up and git her done thing made me just hang the front on chains like we do on the bush-hog type mower.Then just adjust the chains so that the skids are barely off the ground and try that. If it doesn"t meet your qualifications....you can have a winter project for building the wheels on the front. I will mention that one of my rear wheels wore out the hub in the middle and I called and priced a new one and got a quote of $43. I welded mine up and had it going the same day.....3 or 4 years ago. Dealers choice....Fred OH

I just got an agrisupply catalog and it has in it what you mite need.
Guage wheels and supports. Page 29.
If interested I can list the part numbers.
This would let you add front wheels to your mower.

I'm a redneck engineer from way back.

Thanks PB...I have a shop that I can make them, but I hate to pay the $43 each for the hard rubber tires. I found a real good 5" HD mower deck down at the local boneyard and made a pull behind mower out of it with a 8 HP Briggs & Stratton. The guage wheels are adjustable front and rear. Fred OH
