I recently bought a old John Deere 290 Corn Plant that has been sitting in a barn for along time. Everything seem to be OK with it except the tires are actually falling apart off of the rims. They look like older bias ply tires and I can't read any size designation on the sidewall other than the word Goodyear an the fact that it is on a 15 inch rim. Does anyone know what size would fit on this implement. I would like to ask around for a used tire but need to know what to ask for.

Thanks in advance,
MattMO

The wheels on my 290 are 16" - I used Harley rear tires it. They were 16s, narrow enough to fit between the frame and the drive sprocket, and free. I would guess that the originals were 6.00 or 5.50 with a tall profile, a G78 or 215 might be too wide.

They were probably 6.70 X 15, or like a G78 X 15, so like a P215/15 would be close.
