Does anyone have any pictures or diagrams of how & where the
wagon hitch needs to be mounted on the 2xx series square
balers? I've got a book for the 273, but I can't tell a lot from the pictures.

There is a picture of one in the implement photos in the gallery section on the left of the page. I tried to post the link below. The picture is not a close up but maybe it can help. If not I can take a picture of mine one evening.

Dave, you didn't say if you had purchased a hitch or were going to fabricate one yourself. If you go to a bone yard to buy one off a junked baler you can see how its attached. If you are going to fabricate one its located (looking from the rear) 3-4 inches inside the bale chute and about 3 inches below it. These tie into the bale chute in 4 places I believe. The holes already exist. Earlier models were anchored to the axel and also out about 3 or 4 feet to the diagonal that runs to the outboard side. If you are pulling a wagon anchor to the axel is advised. Many are built from pipe that telescopes to different lengths some are not. I built mine for my accumulator from angle iron which works fine but its much easier to pull than a wagon load of hay. Mine is also on a 315 which is slightly different but I looked at several on many models before I started. Good luck..... ..

I"ve been looking for one in a boneyard, but no luck so far. I want to be able to pull a wagon with it. The reason I posted the question was because I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the hitch shouldn"t be attached to the bale chamber. My brother built one for our 273 that attached to the axle, but it didn"t work out so well, so I"m trolling for ideas from some other folks.

Factory wagon hitch for that baler attaches to the bale chamber. The NH dealer on Vienna, Mo has several old NH balers (junk)in the back of his yard with factory hitchs. All are attached to the bale chamber. If you want you can contact Hilltop Tractor Salvage in Lamar, Missouri and if they have one they'll take it off and ship it to you. Good Luck..... ...

Never saw one without a hitch here in southern MN, a telescoping pipe to the right side of the bale chamber. Could get you a pic of my 270, but it is packed away pretty tight in the shed for at least another month. Maybe a scan from the manual, should be in there....
