Bought a NH 259 side delivery rake at an auction, tires are good as well as the paint, the whole rake looks hardy used except one of the five bars is missing. Checked at the New Holland stealer ship and they want close to twice what I paid for the rake. Any body know of or has the part, please post. Thanks in advance John.

That bar costs $2000? Because a 259 is worth $1000 where I live.

You had to do it, Tim in reply to Tim(nj), 04-22-2005 16:24:19
I ignored this post for a whole day, trying to be polite. But I agree, just because he may have gotten the rake super cheap doesn't mean it isn't worth the price of a new tine bar & teeth. Unwarranted dealer bashing trips my trigger. The dealer bears far less responsibility for the price of parts, than the manufacturer but is on the front line of attacks like this. I bet his dealer holds him in the same high regard in return.

Don't know about 269, but if it has soild disk at each end, check for holes to make it a four bar and save the bucks. MY JD can be either 4 or 5. If it has a star wheel and needs five to be balanced then go fetch your self a piece of pipe and few drill bits. Ends could still be pricy though.
