Are parts still available for this plow--I have found one that is at scrap prices, but looks fair, other than slides, shares, shins, and lands(?) Looks straight, has 3 pt.

The 314 is a pretty good plow. I think the biggest drawback is the chain flip--I preferred the 642 with the "duck foot" (gear flip). Still, its a good plow for the money. They typically sell in this area for less than $250, and it's not uncommon for one that needs wings to sell for $50 or less. The stems and frogs are the same as other IH plows. I'm sure the bushings are still available. Good luck!

I am looking high and low here in Ontario for either a two furrow rollover or a light three furrow rollover. I think I'm going to have to come out to look around in the western states. Anything I have found here is either junk or horrendously expensive. Are rollovers fairly common in irrigated country or where?

In Colorado, that is about all you see. What are you looking for? I go to quite a few auctions and may be able to get one cheap. The smaller plows do not go for much.

I rebuilt a 314 two years ago and had no problem finding new moldboards, shares, shins and land sides. I got most of the parts from Big R in Greeley, Colorado. I bought the land sides from John Deere because they had the best price. John Deere has a good parts web site that crosses some of the IH numbers.

Hi CA,

Those were a sweet old plow in their day. I haven't ran into anything yet that I couldn't get parts for from CaseIH. Usually cheaper too.

That bad thing about that old sister, apart from it's low clearance, is that it doesn't have the throw-away shares.

Know a good blacksmith that's still around? :>(

Allan
