Is the NH 461 haybine a good machine or was it one that they had a lot of trouble with? Are parts available for it like sheet metal? I may buy one that has been setting outside and some of the sheet metal is rusted but the rollers look good like it has not been run much. Thanks

I've been useing the same 461 for the last 15 years and it's very reliable. I keep it well lubed and it gives me very little trouble. I had to rebuild the wobble box 5 years ago and gear box 7 years ago but that's about it. Great machine, big enough to do larger fields and small enough to get into and around in the smaller fields.

I have a 460, which is almost the same and it has been pretty good, other then last year I had to replace the one chain abd sprockets. Look it over good and make sure all the chains etc are good and you should get good service out of it. And yes you can still get parts but when you do it husts the back pocket.

Whyen I engage my PTO the sickle blades cut but the rollers that crush the hay and the header won't turn. Looks like some kind of clutch back there with sprockets and belts all over the place. How do I get them to turn again? It worked fine for one pass then quit the next day when I went to finish the field. Any ideas?
